Daniel García is a fine art photographer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with over 50 years of experience capturing the beauty of the Southwest and beyond. Raised in Colorado and born into a long-standing New Mexico family, Daniel's journey into photography began during his teenage years and was further honed during his service as a Navy Photographer. Following his military service, he pursued formal education in Commercial Photography in Aurora, Colorado, and advanced studies in Photographic Science & Instrumentation through the U.S. Navy and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Daniel's work spans fine art, landscapes, wildlife, astronomy, and cultural heritage, with a passion for capturing the Southwest’s diverse beauty. Recent projects include photographing the 2024 total solar eclipse in Texas, showcasing migratory birds at Bosque del Apache, and collaborating with local artists to document the rich tapestry of the region’s culture.

Daniel’s art is featured in galleries, local art shows, and private collections, and he is proud to contribute to Albuquerque’s vibrant artistic community through his residency at the Albuquerque Photographers’ Gallery.

Photography is more than an art form to me; it is a way of life and a means to connect with the world on a profound level. Through my lens, I strive to capture moments that tell stories, evoke emotion, and inspire curiosity. My work is rooted in the awe I feel for nature’s vastness, the intricacy of cultural traditions, and the quiet beauty of everyday scenes.

I am particularly drawn to the interplay of light and shadow—moments where the Golden Hour and Blue Hour transform familiar landscapes into extraordinary visions. Whether documenting the celestial wonder of a solar eclipse, the grace of migratory birds in flight, or the vibrant traditions of the Southwest, my goal is to create images that transcend the frame and resonate with viewers on a personal level.
